Focus

It seems like one thing after another.  We have so much to take care of and the interruptions never seem to stop.  If we could only remember to stop a couple times a day and get focused.

Here are some tips to help you get focused on your goals and control your swirling thoughts.

  1. Write your goals down  ~every morning  ~without looking at yesterday’s list.  If they are important enough to you, you will remember them. (Watch for patterns.)
  2. A few times a day think about your goals.  You can use an alarm or something visual to remind you to give a few minutes to visualize success. (Hint:  a Focus Ring ~ lol)
  3. At least once a day ask yourself this question:  “Has any new experience or opportunity come to me today that can get me closer to my goal?”  When you start looking for this, you will be surprised how quickly you find it . . . everywhere.
  4. Give thanks for the people in your life that bring stability, excitement, and support into your life. They help you focus. They are role models so that you can do the same for others around you.
  5. At the end of the day, focus on what you have accomplished, what you have learned, and what you will work to do better tomorrow.

The Focus Ring can make you think about centering yourself around a simple goal.  When you look at it, you should remember to control your swirling thoughts and focus them toward achieving your goals.

Ladder to Success

Take the steps to succeed by following the intentions of this Ladder to Success. Everyday think of 7 action steps that will move you toward your goal.  Brainstorm in the morning and write those 7 steps down.  Wear your Ladder to Success pendant. Throughout the day several things might happen.  You will think of more action steps that could be taken.  You will see easier opportunities to accomplish the 7 action steps you wrote down.  You will meet people that can help you toward your goal.
The Ladder to Success is there to remind you to keep taking the action steps.

How Realize Jewelry Came to Be

At the beginning of this year (2017), I decided to take on a learning project for a year. I am always learning new things, but I really wanted to commit to learning something completely new and not put it down when it started to get difficult.   Committing a year to this learning project would help me to keep working at it

I picked learning to make wire jewelry.  I started with rings and quickly began to love this project. I made multiples of everything so I could perfect the techniques and then would start learning how to make other items. I would gradually buy different kinds of beads to make different styles and new tools to be able to advance my game.

As I created more and more jewelry, I realized I needed to do something with it all, and I wanted to buy more supplies and tools.  I discussed it with Duane and he was supportive as always, but I struggled with one thought in my head. I did not really start this journey to sell jewelry. That
led me to start thinking about what I really wanted to do.

My passion is to encourage people to set goals and achieve them. I have always wanted to do that, but it’s just not something that comes up in normal conversation. “Hey, what goals are you working on today? Did you write them down?”

I started to realize that when I wore jewelry that I had made, I would remember the things I had thought about while I was making the pieces. I decided that I could make jewelry that would remind women to work on their goals. And jewelry would be prettier than putting a rubber band on your wrist.

The vision of Realize Jewelry is to help women to set and achieve goals through strategies that can be represented in the jewelry they wear. This jewelry will help them remember throughout the day what their goals are and how to get to them.

I am starting this blog to share with you some of the easy changes I have made in my life over the years that have helped me achieve goals and be happier. Hopefully you will also find some beautiful pieces of jewelry that will encourage you to set and achieve goals.

I also still make some pieces just because they are fun to make and because they look great. I can't wait to tell you more about all my jewelry and my new passion.
